Kyambogo University kick-started its electoral process to usher-in new student leaders for the 2022/2023 term.
According to the Electoral Commission (EC) Chairperson Rwakijuma Brian, there are 6 contenders for the top seat.
Various students expressed interest in vying for the position of Guild President but only a handful met the evaluation criteria.
The list of wholly nominated candidates for Guild presidency was released earlier today to grant the participants ample time to commence campaigns.
“Pursuant to Article 17 clause 3A (V) of the Kyambogo University students Guild constitution, we hereby declare the following candidates that were exhaustively nominated on 15th December having fulfilled all the minimum requirements according to Article 9 clause 2 of the stated constitution and therefore free to campaign in accordance with the KYU election guidelines inline with electoral commission road map 2022/2023,” the EC noted.

- Nkwanga Michael
- Okori Brian
- Ssengooba Yunusu
- Wafula Edrine Koholo
Kyambogo University will go to the polls on January 5, 2023 to elect Serge Tumwiine’s successor.
