The National Unity Platform (NUP) Kyambogo University chapter held elections to choose it’s Guild Presidential flag bearer today 5th December 2022.
This follows the meeting held at the NUP Secretariat on Tuesday 29th November which was meant to reduce the number of the NUP presidential candidates from five to one person.
Abdul Aziz, Barbie Tuhairwe and Nuwahereza Bless willingly gave up while Wafula who is currently the leader of opposition in the 18th Guild house remained.
He has been a long term diehard member of the party with a wealth of experience.
Nonetheless, Nkwanga Michael could not just give up as he had already invested so much in the campaigns, thus making the candidates two.
This necessitated the elections to choose the flag bearer.
The NUP delegates arrived at the students’ center much earlier than the candidates. Wafula made it to the polling station calmly before Nkwanga.
With loud music and a large crowds following behind his back, Nkwanga made it to the center, grabbing everyone’s attention.
It is alleged that he was brining the delegates with shs. 10,000 so that they could vote for him.
Beautiful hot girls campaigned for him and danced in front of his truck as the two candidates convinced the delegates in lines to choose them.
The votes were counted in the presence of agents from each camp, who proved that there had been no rigging whatsoever.
Nkwanga had 95 votes and Wafula 168 votes. As soon as Wafula was declared the winner and flag bearer or the party, three girls from Nkwanga’s camp fainted.
As they say, never give up, Nkwanga came out to announce that he has not lost hope and could still be in the guild presidential race.
His truck and music system, although not as loud as it had been at the beginning, left the students’ center with his supporters announcing that he is the right man for Kyambogo.
This leaves students wondering if he will come back as an independent candidate.
