Kyambogo university guild elections have taken a shocking bloody (literally) twist. On a sad note, this website has learnt that the Electoral Commission of Kyambogo university is under attack. The members of this body that was assigned the task to organize the forthcoming guild elections are living in fear after a few of them were attacked including their leader, the chairperson Asimwe Robert .
Asimwe was on Tuesday night attacked by unknown individuals in Banda. Sources say that by the time these people stormed his room, he was actually away and on his way back, he bumped into the goons trying to interrogate his roommate asking him where he (Asimwe) was. Asimwe managed to elude that night finding custody in a safe place which saved him that Tuesday night.
However, Wednesday morning as he was on his way to campus, Asimwe bumped into the same goons who beat him up, put off and made away with his shoes having the EC chairperson walking bare feet on campus.
He was then taken to Kulubya Hall given a thorough wet beating and forced to eat raw potatoes. Fortunate enough, police was alerted of this merciless act was taking place and it arrived at the scene in no minute arresting these five individuals and rescuing Asimwe.
On the same note, a commissioner identified as Dilidha Musa was still beaten up by unknown goons whom he claimed possessed a list having names of various electoral commission members that were also to be beaten up.
