On Monday Kyambogo University students belonging to the engineering faculty marched to the Senate Building premises protesting, the delayed procurement of materials.
The students comprised of freshers clad in their overall coats claim the delayed materials are needed to aid them during their internship training.
“We have never received these materials that we need to aid our internship. Promises are the only things they seem to feed us on but we have been patiently waiting all this while in vain, it’s now or never,” lamented an angry student.
However these angry bickering students’ demonstration was cut short by the police who restrained and denied them access to the administration block.
The acting Vice-Chancellor to the institution, Prof. Elly Katunguka arrived later in the day, calming the students after a dialogue made and consensus reached. Prof. Elly Katunguka further promised to students to look into and solve their matter.
