Yesterday night at Sheraton Kampala Gardens, Sadolin Paints Uganda awarded the best three painters in the 3rd Mabarti Challenge 2016 which was under the theme “Colors of Urban Nature.”
Musinguzi Gilbert, a 25-year-old painter, sculptor and graduate from Kyambogo University emerged the winner for his painting dubbed “Kampala Kuyiiya” (Kampala the city of creativity), which captured the urban realities of Kampala City in terms of people trading.

He scooped UGX 1,500,000. The judges said that Musingunzi’s composition had a strong sense of evenly distributed colors, with an abstract background which resonated with this year’s theme
He was followed by Doddridge Busingye, a masters student at Makerere and Rodney Kiggundu a graduate from the college of industrial art and design at Makerere University who were award one 1000,000 and 500,000 respectively.
