It was a beehive of activities at Kulubya dining Hall of Kyambogo University on Monday, 19th of March, 2018 at exactly 2:00 PM as the newly elected Guild house met for the first time to take oaths of allegiance and also elect the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the house.
Since time was not the best ally, the oaths of allegiance were taken at once by all GRCs and hall chairpersons. The house was then requested to nominate candidates for the positions of Guild Speaker and Deputy Speaker. The nominations came in favor of Akankwasa Christopher and Waniala Brian for the position of Speaker, though the latter was victorious. Kukunda Anyensi managed to beat three other nominated councilors to the position of Deputy Speaker for the new Guild house.
At about 5:00 PM, there was a moment of great anxiety as the Guild President elect, German Amanya took up the most strenuous task of selecting cabinet ministers from the highly expectant house. Musanje Rogers, Kyasimirwe, and Elong Ambrose were chosen as the special Councilors and ministers in the new house. He then appointed eleven other ministers which left scores of expectant GRCs disappointed. Some of them were even noticed quietly walking out of the house in great agony.
Below is the tentatively available list of the new cabinet ministers, Guild speaker, and Deputy Speaker of Kyambogo University.
