The heavy and unexpected rains that covered most parts of the country today did not spare the East End Grounds at Kyambogo University that are supposed to host the 15th Graduation ceremony tomorrow morning.
The three day graduation ceremony that will take place on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday this week will commence with the award of students from School of Management and Entrepreneurship (SOME), Faculty of Special Needs and Rehabilitation and Graduate School.
However, the first phase of the ceremony may be placed in jeopardy over the inability of the East End Pitch to hold the ceremony in its current state. The place has been heavily flooded beyond recognition which may prompt the University administration to think of a different venue for the ceremony.
Speaking to the organising committee of the graduation ceremony, they confirmed that they are trying hard to get the grounds dry for the ceremony.
“Regardless of the state of the graduation grounds, the graduation ceremony must take place. We shall try to rid theplace of the water. If all fails, we shall Cha venue,” one of the organisers spoke to Campus Bee.
The flooding of the grounds has left students making fun of the incident, claiming that graduates need to come with life jackets for their safety.
We shall keep you posted.
