As the final preparations of the 16th graduation of Kyambogo University were in high gear, students were crosschecking to confirm that there names appear on the graduation list.
Yesterday Tuesday 10, December, a parent who had gone to check for her daughter’s name on the list collapsed in the dean’s office after noticing that the list didn’t include the name of her daughter.
This parent claimed that her daughter had cleared everything concerning with tuition and had seen her marks on the student portal. She was surprised that her name didn’t appear on the final graduation list.
Her daughter was not the only affected student as many other students had even lost hope after spending weeks in chasing after their marks and failed.
“I have fulfilled all the requirements that are needed for graduation and I have no missing marks but I don’t appear on the graduation list.” one of the students told our reporter.
It is also said that some of the students who don’t appear on the list always get retakes in their final year and they have to pay functional fees to recover their expired identity cards which most of them don’t do.
The university came out to clear the air and said that those whose names didn’t appear on the list their results were not approved by the university senate but they will b able to receive their transcripts some time after the graduation has been done.
