Kyambogo University has qualified to represent the country and the East African region in the Continental debate tournament dubbed the Pan-African University Debate Championships “PAUDC madzimbabwe” that shall happen at Midland State University in Harare, Zimbabwe.
This follows their win in the recently concluded national interuniversity debate championships and becoming 1st runners up in the East African debate championships.
This prestigious tournament draws up to 20 African Countries represented by more than a hundred top universities drawing up to 1400 international delegates. The competition started yesterday and will end on December 17, 2016.
This year’s edition was named after the Great Zimbabwe monument, the pride of our national heritage in acknowledgement of the great African minds that constructed such complex and amazing structures thus providing African solutions to African problems.
Pan African Universities Debate Championship is a platform of international intellectual engagement on topical contemporary issues affecting the African region from the Social to the economic spectrum. The tournament was founded in 2008 and has been hosted by six other African countries with Botswana and South Africa having hosted the tournament of such magnitude twice each.
The winning team of six students from Kyambogo University took a flight yesterday to zimbabwe to represent the country . The team is composed of;
