Kyambogo University has lost Auma Molly Peace, a student who has been pursuing a Bachelor in Agricultural Sciences. Auma passed on at Mulago National Referral Hospital at 12:04 AM on Monday 2nd September after sustaining a brain damage.
Auma, who hails from Omuko village, Okere Parish in Otuke District is said to have left behind a 2 Weeks old baby. It is said that the father of the baby disappeared after birth and reluctantly refused to offer financial assistance to her and the child. This led to Auma’s distress hence collapsing and hitting her head hard and sustaining head injuries.
Auma was first admitted at a health centre in Lira, where upon several tests was recommended for transfer to Mulago National Referral Hospital where she eventually died. Auma was set to graduate in December this year at Kyambogo University but fate wouldn’t let this happen.
She will be dearly missed by Kyambogo University fraternity, most especially by her former course mates. In the morning of Tuesday 3rd September, volunteers were moving around Campus collecting contributions and condolences that will be vital in assisting the 2 Weeks Old baby push through this hard time.
Burial arrangements are underway to give Auma a befitting sendoff in Omuko Village, Otuke district. May the soul of the deceased rest in eternal peace.
