On sartuday at around 10pm, Kyambogo university’s North Hall held it’s porridge night. But wonders never cease to happen: these students love porridge and popcorns.
Students, especially from Kulubya Hall, never spared each other as they were seen all over the place scrambling for porridge and popcorns that were being served freely and in plenty. Various students were spotted carrying saucepans and jugs and making up lines, simply to catch a taste of the night’s meal.
To differ from the rest, this porridge night gave an invite to every hall of residence that exists in Kyambogo, and to the surprise of the oganisers, the turn up tripled what was expected. By 9pm, the hall’s Square was flooding.
It all started at about 10pm with various musical perfomances from the hall’s very own artist and the man of the night Brian Tumwesigye aka Bawyn who is also visually impaired. His musical perfomance left revellers still wanting.
As the perfomances proceeded, the projector screen showing flicks was put up, probably to distract the students’ attention from popcorns.
Chairpersons of various halls that we’re present promised to organise a mega movie and porridge night that will attract the whole students fraternity come next semester.
