Tired of issuing endless warnings, management in Kyambogo University halls of residence has vowed to heavily penalize students who have adamantly insisted on cooking in the halls of residence, Campus Bee reports.

Kyambogo University has five halls of residence which include Nanziri, Mandela, Pearl, North Hall and Kulubya. It is a common rule that students are not permitted to prepare food in the halls of residence.

The reason behind this arrangement is that halls of residence were specially designed for Government sponsored students who can pick food from service providers at the East and West End Dinning halls by paying feeding allowances provided by the government.

However, in a bid to cut costs, management claims that some students have sneaked in stoves and electric cookers, something that is not permitted in the halls of residence.

At Nanziri Hall of residence, a notice has even been clearly pinned indicating that should any of the students be nabbed in the act, they are at a risk of experiencing an earlier version of black November as an amount of Shs. 100,000 will be taken from them in form of fines.
