A contractor has dragged Kyambogo University to court seeking an order against the University for failure to clear more than 97 million UGX debt.
It is reported, the petition filed in court by the contractor was caused by a lot of money accumulated in arrears for the supply of various laboratory, scholastic and stationary goods.
In regards to the case filed at the high court, Mid World Enterprises Limited, the contractor, alleges that Kyambogo University has ignored to pay the money regardless of the accumulated reminders.
The contractor therefore is seeking Hight Court to direct the Banda based University to settle the outstanding arrears and collateral cost and damages caused to the company.
Mid World Enterprises say came into a contract with Kyambogo University for supply of different scholarstic materials, which were always availed at all times delivered and received in time and thereon debited.
“Since October 2016 to early 2017 Mid World Enterprises supplied various item amounting to Shs97.9m, which money has since then, been approved but never been paid,” court documents reads in part.
Documents presented before court have been attached with pure evidence of the demand notices and notice of purpose to sue the university which was ignored by the university up to date.
