Kyambogo University government sponsored students have vowed to spend a night at senate on Thursday 14th November if their allowances are not cleared. Today morning saw a group of government students peacefully march to the senate building of Kyambogo University as they demanded for their delayed allowances.
“Today we had come at senate to engage the administration on why we have not yet received our allowances yet. We have nothing to eat! These allowances are not holiday packages. They are supposed to cater for our welfare.” Said a disgruntled Birungi Ismail, the Guild Representative Councillor for government students.
“We have given them 74 hours which end on Thursday and then we shall come here and won’t leave until we are worked upon.” Birungi further said.
He noted that since they need to pay to the private restaurants that are providing food, there is no way anyone can think of doing examinations without anything to eat.
