Kyambogo University has come up with a new initiative to help students identify themselves easily.
Students at Kyambogo will now be able to use virtual identity cards courtesy of the Students guild leadership under the stewardship of Mwebesa Reagan.
“We have managed to lobby for students to be provided with virtual identity cards where every student is provided with a virtual ID,” Mwebesa said.
Every student that has enrolled and has a picture uploaded on their portal will be able to access a virtual identity card.
The initiative is inspired by the delayed release of students identity cards and the difficulty in processing new ones once one loses his/her ID.
“We have challenges of delayed release of IDs and being hard to get whenever students lose and misplace them,” Mwebesa said.
He adds that this will be a long lasting solution to the challenge of acquiring IDs with ease.
“We believe that in doing so, we will offer a long lasting quick solution especially to assist year ones who take long to get IDs,”he added.
Procedure to acquire a virtual ID
- Open your browser
- Search ‘documents.kyu.ac.ug’
- Select use ‘student number’
- Drop down and select virtual ID
- Fill in your student number
- Tap verify and scroll down to access your virtual ID
