Kyambogo university non teaching staff yesterday resolved to end their industrial strike and resume work effective today the 1st of August 2017.
In a long meeting that was held at the west end main hall, the non-teaching staff resolved to end their 21 days strike after receiving a letter from the ministry of public service agreeing to pay off their salary enhancements including the arrears the next financial year 2018/2019.
However, few of these staff members did not agree with this move claiming the government has been making these similar promises over and over and they may still fail to fulfill it.
An industrial strike is the only way we can fight this battle and if we decide to call it off, it literally means we have lost the battle.
Nevertheless the non-teaching today normal resumed work after the agreement.
