Kyambogo University has successfully set up a number of new classy lecture rooms and libraries but they have somehow forgotten about the state of the staff quarters. While taking a walk around Kyambogo University premises, our reporter landed on these embarrassing rooms where the Banda based non-teacing staff and some lectures reside.
The residentials in question are surrounded by a bushy environment in addition to the old sorry state dilapidated structures. Kyambogo University lecturers have on many occasions complained about their delayed salary payment but no complaint has ever been filed publicly regarding the state of their ‘apartments.’
These shocking quarters are located inside Kyambogo University campus just above the newly constructed library next to the security quarters. It should be noted that Kyambogo University is a state owned institution likely to become one of the biggest in case all art courses at Makerere are moved to Kyambogo (as suggested by the Makerere visitation committee).
