Kyambogo University student, Alinaitwe Douglas Raymond, has come out to publicly seek the first son’s financial support.
He did so through jotting down his struggles to Lt Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the first son and Commander of Land Forces – UPDF.
In the letter, Douglas describes himself as a serious and struggling third year student at Kyambogo University under the Faculty of Science Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Oil and Gas Production.
“Am looking forward to raising 2,055USD (7,500,000UGX). Broadly speaking, it’s with profound sincerity that I have always aimed at accomplishing what I started in order to be successful for a decent journey of my life,” he appealed.
Douglas attributes his struggles to the aging and low wages of his father, Mr. Bagonza Charles who can no longer reach the demands of the university in the required time.
More so, Douglas claims that he has tried applying for grants, several scholarships, government loan schemes but “surely things never worked out.”
“Potential well-wishers have also played their partbut now, they can’t afford. That’s why I had to let you know about my donation request. I am writing to ask you to support me on this issue,” he added.
Douglas further explained that the donation will mainly cover the university expenses like tuition fees, hostel fees and a Study laptop.
“Your tremendous support will help me build a great and a successful career path to navigate and even lifting others to also reach a certain goal in their lives as a form of paying back,” he pledged.
With the increased cost of quality education and living in the country, Douglas is one of the many students struggling to make ends meet and dearly need every form of support.
By publication time, this website had not accessed any response from Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba. Hopefully the lad’s wish comes true.
