Tricky news reaching our desk indicates that a Kyambogo University student has been surprised to find results of a course unit she prefers to call “wierd” reflecting on her student’s portal.
This student is in her second year pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts with Education (Geography and Economics) from the faculty of Arts and Humanities.
She calls the course unit wierd because she neither studied nor did the examination, not to say that it’s the first time she learned of it’s existence.
“Introduction to the study of language” is the course unit in question. This is rather funny because amidst wide ranging complaints of missing marks and delayed release of results, someone is able to receive timely results of a course unit she is entirely green about.
Not long ago that the Director of ICT said that Kyambogo’s ACMIS (Academic Management Information Systems) has been advanced and is working just perfectly fine.
One can barely think of just a reason why such a thing happened. There are allegations that some lecturers award forged marks to students.
It is quite mysterious how a student’s academic information would reflect marks of an examination she didn’t sit for.
The affected student did six course units in semester two 2020/2021 namely; Development Geography of Eastern Africa, Communication skills and Humanities, Map work, photographic interpretation and Fieldwork, curriculum design and development, Basic Macro economics and Principles of Development Economics.
Only results for curriculum design and development have not been released.
She was thus astonished to see results of “Introduction to the Study of language” reflecting on her portal even when she never registered it.
