Hamidu Muambe a first year student at Kyambogo University currently pursuing a bachelor of Counseling and Guidance was on Monday stabbed after supporters of Ian Kafuko (NRM) and Julius Nsubuga (FDC) clashed.
NRM supporters turned rowdy and started throwing stones at Dr Besigye’s car with stones making police intervention with tear gas.
It is when the students were forced out of the campus that the FDC and NRM party supporters clashed around Wamala hostel and Mr Muambe was stabbed in the ensuing chaos.
Speaking to Campus bee at Naguru hospital where he was hospitalized after the incident, Muambe said: “I still feel pain in my ribs though it is not as severe as it was yesterday. I know we shall have vicotry after all this. This cowardly act was uncalled for.”
Last week, two Makerere University students were stoned and left injured at Lumuba Hall where campaigns where a guild rally was held.
