The long awaited Uganda National Students’ Association (UNSA) elections were held on Thursday April 13th, 2017 after several weeks of waiting from the time a court injuction postponed the election that was earlier scheduled for January 26th, 2017.
In the hotly contested race for the Presidency, Winfred Nakandi of Kyambogo University emerged victor with 121 votes beating IUIU’s Mugamba Shahali (29), Law Development Centre (LDC’s) Okot P’Bitek (38), Mukembo Robert (40), and Benjamin B (60).
