Teargas and live bullets rocked Kyambogo areas today as Police engaged in running battles with citizens and several students. Hostels of Kabojja, Bavana, Wamala were feeding on teargas as defeaning sounds and white smoke rocked the area.
There were also Kiface groups that were rounding up students and stealing their gadgets. Anyone found in a small crowd was being clobbered.
Four students have been clobbered and their phones taken by the Kiface group. These were allegedly founf walking along Kyambogo-Naalya road. Two of the brutally beaten boys are currently nursing wounds at the Kyambogo University medical centre.
Tensions have been high at the Kyambogo side as Uganda went into it’s second day of Presidential Nominations. Kyagulanyi Sentamu Robert alias Bobi Wine was dully nominated today at the Kyambogo sports ground where he was arrested and immediately taken to his home.
