It’s a great honor for Kyambogo University students belonging to the department of performing arts and faculty of arts and humanities as they are going to showcase their exciting performances and talents during the African Theatre Association International conference that is scheduled to take place from 21st July to 23rd July 2022.
There are a number of drama performances that will take place at the university in the three-day conference under the theme “Voyages in post-colonial African and African Diasporic theatre practice.”
Most exhilarating of them all include the play “Man to Man” directed by Charles Mulekwa and “Kinsmen and Kinswomen” written by Mr. Lubwa P’chong and directed by Mrs. Allen Naturinda Tush, the certified trainer for skills for Adolescents and facilitator of the Arts Education Program and In Movement.
There will also be an Afro contemporary Dance performance choreographed by Mr. Isaac Semaganda and Mrs. Judith Lubega Tusime. More for those who like dance, there will be an evening of music, dance and drama on the last day of the conference and you could not miss it for the world.
The keynote Speakers of the conference are Professor Patrick Mangeni of Makerere University, Professor Samuel Kasule of the University of Derby and Dr. Perpetual Mforbe of Humboy University of Berlin.
The privileged Kyambogo University students of performing arts are already giving everyone a sneak peek of what exactly they will showcase at the conference as their rehearsals are as breath taking as their performances will be.
