Kyambogo University Vice Chancellor on Monday while addressing the student body online gave a ray of hope for continuing students.
He revealed that if the current final year students “behave themselves” and observe the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), the rest of the students who have stayed home could resume studies in January.
Prof Katunguka also advised final year students to always wear their masks. “Please wear your masks at all times. No student will be allowed into the campus without a face mask. If you have flu or cough, please stay in your room. Do not come to campus,” he said.
Prof Katunguka also revealed that the university will not host any university or group sports. On the issue of the guild leadership that was dissolved before campus closed in March, Prof Katunguka urged the Dean of Students to work with the previous guild leaders to provide any student leadership.
An isolation centre on campus has also been set up for suspected COVID-19 cases.
