As the reopening dates for universities remain uncertain, Kyambogo University’s Jussy Hostel has informed its residents (students) to pick up their property over what they termed as security concerns.
The hostel management further communicated that it can no longer keep the students’ property safe for a period longer than anticipated.
“You’re requested to pick your property for security purposes. The hostel is unable to keep your property for a period longer than anticipated. Thanks.” Reads a text message sent to all Jussy Hostel residents.
Many students were in March 2020 forced to leave behind their property following the closure of all universities in a bid to slow the spread of COVID-19.
Universities hoped that they would reopen after 30 days but by the look of things, reopening isn’t happening any time soon.

Located along Kiwatule – Banda – Kyambogo Road, Jussy is also a popular hostel in Banda opposite Kyambogo College pitch. All its rooms are not-self contained and it has no single rooms.
