Oyako Samuel aka MC YAKS is a third year student at the Banda-based Kyambogo University, pursuing a Bachelor of art and industrial design. He is what you would describe as a witty and chuckle some gentleman who is destined for greatness.
Mc Yaks started his emceeing career while still in high school at Aduku Secondary school in present day Kwania district. Here he made himself a name and immediately became a well known school celebrity. After joining Kyambogo University, Oyako did not let excitement engulf him. He instead thought big. He looked for ways he could push his emceeing career further. He wanted to take over the national scene, because he believed he had enough talent.
Since then, Oyako looked for gigs from small clubs, birthday parties and any function that would let him showcase his emceeing prowess. He knew that he had that knack of a superstar and whenever he laid his hands on the microphone, the euphoric reverberation would ricochet on all the faces in attendance.
Delayed by the hard-to-crack Kampala fame scene, Mc Yaks decided to first take over his home base. He took it upon himself to look for gigs in his home district. Mc yaks is already trending in his home district Apac. He has hosted several editions of the trendy silent discos, most of which were organized by Derrick E, a well known event organizer in the region.
He was also chosen as a student choice for the Luo Dance Party, an event organized by Djos Company Limited earlier this year which brought various Luo speaking people within Kampala . Whoever attended left in awe of the mighty talent of the boy from Kwania.
MC Yaks has been hosted on several TV stations, one being Wan Luo TV where his interview gave the Karwate program the highest views ever. He has also hosted successful online shows in the pandemic though little is earned from such shows. Oyako is currently signed under DCL, a label and organisation in Lira which stands for Djos Company Limited.
Despite the downfalls caused by the lockdown, MC Yaks still believes that his rise to stardom is set to resume as soon as music shows are opened again. Whatever is laid on the table, this determined student is headed for greatness. All the best.
