A Kyambogo University (KYU) fresher received a monetary gift of Shs. 1,000,000 from her former head teacher, providing much-needed relief, as she embarks on the journey of higher education.
The fortunate student, Harriet Nakazzi, who recently joined KYU as a new student, was all smiles while receiving the financial support from Ms Vicky Nalubaale Muggaga, head teacher of Kikaaya College School located in Bulenga.
The gesture highlights the integrated community that the school fosters among its students, even after their completion.
The beneficiary, Nakazzi is set to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounts and Finance at KYU.
She completed high school in 2022 with Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) at the high school.
The Shs 1M gift may appear modest in comparison to the overall cost of education at KYU, but it holds immense value beyond its monetary worth.
Nakazzi intends to put the money towards her tuition.
As she embarks on this exciting new phase of her education, the gift from her former head teacher serves as a beacon of encouragement and a reminder that the bonds formed in educational institutions can last a lifetime.
