The 2013/2014 Kyu guild council has received a lot of criticisms over failure to deliver but all hope is not lost!
The guild has been accused of failure to produce any project that can be left behind as a legacy but the guild council passed a 28 million shillings project to purchase the aprons for the domestic workers in the halls of residence’s dining halls.
The contract to supply the aprons has already been awarded and the students now wait for the supply.
Speaking to the guild chief whip, he said; “This shouldn’t have been the priority for the guild as many issues affecting students remain untouched. If every member of the house is tasked to present what he has done in his/her respective capacity, it would be a hard task for most of the house members.’
Kyambogo varsity has 5 halls of residence; Pearl, Mandela, Kulubya, Nanziri and North hall. How many aprons do these people really require with a budget of 28 million shillings?
