Prof. John Ssebuwufu, the Chancellor of Kyambogo University recognized and awarded Edgar Ndekera Mbiri who is the best overall student at the 15thGraduation Ceremony with a First class and CGPA of 4.97.
Edgar Ndekera who was offering a Bachelor of Food Processing Technology in the Faculty of Science topped his class and the whole University with an amazing first Class Degree. It is not the first time the Faculty of Science is producing the best student. Last year, Kakooza Derrick a student from this faculty and offering the same course topped with a CGPA of 4.90.
Speaking to Edgar Ndekera, he confirmed getting GPA’s of 5 all through except for one semester.
“I scored GPA of 5 throughout the four years of my course. It was only the second semester of the third year where I failed to score it. If it wasn’t for that semester, I would have scored 5 as the final CGPA,” Ndekera told Campus Bee.
Ndekera, who offered his course on Government Merit, said that his biggest inspiration to perform exceedingly well was his inner desire and passion for good results. However, he noted that Bachelor of Food Processing wasn’t his dream course in the beginning.
“Bachelor of Medicine was my Dream Course. However, I did not get the course on Government Merit. I was denied Medicine on private sponsorship as well which forced me to stick with this course, and indeed, it has borne fruit,” said Ndekera.

Others that were recognized as exceptional at Kyambogo’s 15th Graduation include Odeke Enock who was the best among Arts students with CGPA 4.86 and Ainomugisha Aldrine who was recognized as the best female overall with CGPA of 4.84.
About 300 students walked away with first-class degrees of the over 7000 that graduated this year.
