In this year’s Webometrics ranking of world universities, Makerere university remains the best university in Uganda and 1033 in the world followed by Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) and Kyambogo is the third.
Webometrics statistics also rank Gulu University as the fourth in Uganda, Kampala international University (KIU) as the fifth, Ugandan Martyrs University 6th followed by Islamic University in Uganda, Ugandan Christian University (UCU), Busitema University, and lastly Makerere University Business School (MUBS).
All the top five African universities came from from South Africa as University of Cape Town was ranked the best in Africa and 272 worldwide. It was followed by University of Witwatersrand, University of Pretoria, Stellenbosch University and University of Kwazulu Natal.
