Law Development Center (LDC) celebrated its finalists with Dinner on Friday night at the Imperial Royale Hotel, Kampala.
The all free ceremony that happens once a year for its respective finalists is dubbed Bar Course Professional Dinner. The dinner is meant to prepare the students for the wining and dining that awaits them in the field in-addition to opening up professional networking ties with attending influential practitioners.
The dinner was graced by the Inspector General of Government (IGG) of Uganda, Justice Irene Mulyagonja who was guest of honor, The Inspector General of Police ( IGP), Gen. Kale kayihura among others.
While the IGG cautioned the students to work with integrity, Kayihura called upon them to revamp the glory of the institution of justice, be service providers and rational.
“Do not judge police by mistakes of one person or what you see on TV. Police is a bigger institution,” he ascertained.
The students told Campus Bee the function lived to their expectations.
“I have eaten and just you look at the drinks on this table. They spell F.U.N,” one of the attendees commented.
Elijah Enyimu, one of the students informed the Bee that even with papers starting on Monday (today), the rule at LDC is; work hard, play even harder and they meant to live by it.
“We have been preparing for nine months. We have worked hard and we shall pass but for now it’s play time.”
The students were observably smart and commended by their acting director, Justice Mubiru for the effort. Even though for LDC a suit is the order of the day, guys made a difference by putting on tuxedos while girls rocked the event with flashy dresses.
Good luck in the field and have a successful exam period.
