The Law Development Centre (LDC) is celebrating one of it’s own, Patson Wilbrod Arinaitwe, for making it to the global stage.
Pastson, the Head of Subject in Alternative Dispute Resolution at LDC has achieved a significant milestone by being elected to the International Court of Arbitration (ICC) as a Court Member.
His appointment, made during the ICC World Council meeting on June 11, 2024, in Paris, France, marks the first time Uganda is represented in this prestigious global institution.
According to a post shared by LDC, the role comes with substantial responsibilities, including arbitrating international disputes and enhancing Uganda’s visibility in the field of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) on a global platform.
The ICC Court, which comprises 191 members from 119 jurisdictions, plays a critical role in resolving international commercial and investment disputes, providing an opportunity for Arinaitwe to contribute his expertise on a global stage.
This appointment is not only a proud moment for Arinaitwe but also a significant milestone for Uganda.
