Last year around July, Campus Bee ran a story that the Law Development Centre (LDC) would be operating her Lira Campus in the academic year 2019/2020 after a communication was posted on the Lira University Facebook page about a partnership between the two institutions (LDC and Lira University).
We are informed that the third branch of LDC (after Kampala and Mbarara branches) will start to enroll pioneer students in October this year, which is still within the 2019/2020 academic year time frame as reported in the previous story.
In the story last year, we reported that LDC and Lira University met to review a memorandum of understanding (MOU) where LDC would tap into the university’s infrastructure to operate while she (LDC) readies her 20 acres that were given to it freely to construct the permanent campus.
Some sources in the local dailies are confirming that the said MOU that was being reviewed has finally been signed while quoting Didas Bakunzi, the LDC secretary for the above confirmation.
The new campus will be expected to host about 300 students that will be selected through a computerized system that LDC is already using to distribute the students between the campuses.
Bakunzi also confirms that LDC has enough labour to teach and operate all the three campuses as the professional assistants that teach at LDC will be periodically rotated through exchange programs.
