Law Development Centre (LDC) has launched an initiative which is aimed at helping students from poor backgrounds to pursue law courses at the institute.
LDC is set to introduce a fund for this initiative as part of its activities in its upcoming golden jubilee celebrations. This is set to help many students who fail to finish their Law courses due to tuition constraints and they end up not achieving their law careers.
According to a source within the centre, when this is implemented, it will increase the number of lawyers and law firms in Uganda to improve on delivery of law services to the public.
LDC was formed by a Parliamentary Act in 1970 to offer certificates of practice to law graduates from various universities
Mr. Didas Bakunzi LDC Secretary, said that in order to extend services to the people, the institution is planning to open up other campuses in Lira and Mbale very soon to add on the two existing campuses of Kampala and Mbarara.
