A Ugandan University student Julius Ssekitoleko who went missing in Japan days before the forthcoming 2020 Olympics left a note indicating that he wanted to remain and work in Japan, officials said Saturday.
The 20 year old was expecting to participate in weight lifting game in the Olympics, but unfortunately didn’t qualify and was due to return to back home on July 20, only for him to find a thin route into disappearance.
The officials also report that Ssekitoleko, in the same note, asked to have his belongings returned back home to his relatives. It all seems like this was in his plans as he left Uganda.
The young lad purchased a Shinkansen bullet train ticket to Nagoya, about 200 kilometers away from the city of Izumisano in Japan, according to CNN.
Ssekitoleko, 20, was worried missing after failing to appear for a Coronavirus test and was not in his hotel room in Japan, according to a statement that was released by the City security.
The 2020 Olympic Games are kicking off on July 23, after they were held back due to the outbreak of novel Coronavirus last year.
