Lira University will hold its 4th Graduation ceremony on Friday, January 13, 2023.
This was confirmed by the university’s Senior Communications Officer, Mr. Patrick Opio.
According to the update shared on Lira University website, the ceremony will take place at the Main Campus in Lira and will witness more than 300 graduands receive degrees in different academic programmes.
Tentatively, President Yoweri Museveni is expected to preside over the ceremony as the chief guest.
Among other important guests expected to grace the occasion are; the 1st Lady and Minister of Education, Mrs Janet Museveni, Minister of Health, Hon. Jane Ruth Aceng, Minister of Gender, Labour and Social services, Hon Betty Amongi, the Government Chief Whip, Hon Hampson Obua, development partners and other leaders.
As a public university, Lira University envisions being “a Beacon centre of Applied Sciences and Technology” by providing access to quality higher education, professional training, research and innovations for the delivery of appropriate services directed towards community transformation and conservation of biodiversity.
Unlike most universities, Lira University hands graduates their academic documents (Transcripts and Certificates) on the day of graduation ceremony so that they (graduates) can comfortably compete for job opportunities with immediate effect.
