The fresh Lira University held its first graduation ceremony last Friday during a function officiated by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni as the chief guest. The ceremony saw 192 students graduate in disciplines of Science and Management.
Lira University’s big day also doubled as the official installment ceremony for their Chancellor Chief Justice Emeritus Dr. Benjamin Odoki as well as Prof Dr. Jasper Ogwal-Okeng as the Vice-Chancellor.

Museveni vowed to tarmac the main road to the university as well as other roads within the Lira-based campus. ‘I pledge to tarmac the road to the university and the roads in the entire university.’ Museveni pledged.
In his congratulatory message to the graduands, the President urged them to make their life choices wisely by making sure that they stay alive and healthy.
“I congratulate the students and caution them to make their life choices wisely, most importantly they should stay alive and healthy if they are to ably contribute to the development of this country.”

I installed Chief Justice Emeritus Dr. Benjamin Odoki as the Chancellor for Lira University and Prof Dr. Jasper Ogwal-Okeng as the Vice-Chancellor.
I also officiated at the first graduation ceremony of the institution, where one hundred ninety-two (192) students graduated in disciplines of Science and Management.
I congratulate the students and caution them to make their life choices wisely, most importantly they should stay alive and healthy if they are to ably contribute to the development of this country.
I pledge to tarmac the road to the university and the roads in the entire university.
