The Office of the Academic Registrar, Lira University, has released the list of admissions for the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (LMS) 2023/24 Academic Year.
It should be recalled that mentioned programme is a new one at the public university hence quite a few applicants were taken in. The tight race left out hundreds due to few slots given by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE).
At the University’s Appointment Board Meeting on Tuesday (26th September2023), 40 students were admitted under Direct and Diploma schemes – according to the university website.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Jasper Ogwal Okeng noted that the students were admitted on merit stating that: “We cherish professionalism and work ethics. We have a name and legacy to keep, the reason we cannot bend the admission criteria and policy.”
Admission Letters can be picked from the Admissions Office in the Public Health Block, starting Wednesday, 27th September, 2023.
The Academic registrar has notified the admitted students will be expected to register within two weeks or forfeit their offer. The students must as well attend orientation on 10th October, 2023.
