In the wake of recent demonstrations by students at Lira University, management has come out to take action.
According to the university communications’ officer, four students have been shown the exit door regarding the uprising.
Lira University has suspended four students including Guild Speaker, Ronald Mbinga Kule for allegedly leading the recent students strike.
Other students are Lubwama Joseph, Sserwanga Joshua and Mutebi Rodney Christopher. All Government sponsored students.

The letters written by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Jasper Ogwal Okeng on 12th May 2023 indicate that the four students were indefinitely suspended with immediate effect as investigations into their alleged indiscipline continue.
The students were ordered not to appear anywhere within the University premises or installations in this period of the suspension.
Relating to the above, Makerere University has been in the news for issuing out suspension letters over similar offenses.
Barely a week ago, Makerere Vice Chancellor suspended one student for participating in a demonstration.
