The construction of Lira University’s Storey Administration Block, a major project costing billions of shillings, is on track to be completed within the next three months.

According to the university spokesman, the building, which will serve as the university’s administrative hub, is expected to be finished by December 2024 and handed over to the management by January 2025.

At a site meeting on September 26, 2024, Lt. Aggrey Bdhajala, the site engineer from the National Enterprise Corporation (NEC) — the UPDF’s engineering wing — confirmed that the majority of the work is already complete.

The project, valued at UGX 13.8 billion, is being overseen by Technology Consults Ltd.

Emma Aceng, the Dean of Students, speaking on behalf of Vice Chancellor Prof. Jasper Ogwal Okeng, commended NEC for their swift progress and adherence to deadlines.

She emphasized the importance of the building, noting that it will accommodate numerous departments and offices, significantly enhancing the university’s ability to deliver services.
