Former Makerere University don, Dr Stella Nyanzi has eulogized fallen singer Moze Radio. In her eulogy, the researcher eulogizes the fallen Goodlife artise as “prolific in his creativity.” Below is her full eulogy.
“Mozey Radio anumye nyo! His development as a music giant in Uganda brought a lot of joy, laughter, dancing, singing and merriment to my household. He was unique in his music style, prolific in his creativity, irreverent to the core, a producer of joy in his delivery, and I loved the idiosyncratic ornamentation of his arms. Not only has Uganda lost a talented young man, but the local music scene has lost an exemplar. Weasle and Goodlyfe were blessed to work with the King.
My children grew up singing and dancing to many of the songs that Radio and Weasle sang. “Bread and Butter” was a favorite that they ate their breakfast to. “Nyambura bweli nali omwavu n’ondekawo nzifunye” was one of our favorite mime songs. Everybody in the house sang the verses loudly. “We are fitting tufitinga,” “Nyumbaani,” “Njagala ddagala nfune otulo,” “Obudde”… are among the highlights of his songs that we often sang and danced to. I often played Radio and Weasle’s music in the car.
I loved Radio’s music because it was difficult to hate him as a person. I attended many of the concerts that the duo held over the years. Even after the call to boycott all Tubonga Nawe musicians, I found it difficult to abandon his music. Even when he was involved in this scandal or the other, I ignored the badmouthing about him, and enjoyed consuming his music. Even when the reviews of the music became negative, I still loved and enjoyed Radio’s creative productions! Bambi rest well Moses Ssekiboogo. You generously shared your gift with the world!”
