While the addressing the Nation today (11th June 2020), the President of Uganda HE. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni urged Ugandans to continue adhering to the guidelines put in place by the government to curb down on the spread of COVID-19. He communicated that if Ugandans cooperate with the government in the struggle, this pandemic will be defeated.
On the issue of the escalating of numbers of COVID-19 patients in Uganda, President Museveni made clarification that some of the cases which were classified as positive were not true.
“Some of the 679 confirmed cases were classified as positive when they are not by a laboratory in Makerere because they were careless. Apparently there were a few people working there and probably got tired,’’ he clarified.
As of today, Uganda had confirmed 679 positive cases of COVID-19 with 161 recoveries and zero death.
