The Muljibhai Madhvani Foundation, renowned for its commitment to education and empowerment, has unveiled a significant initiative aimed at nurturing the academic aspirations of Ugandan students. In an announcement made today, the Foundation declared a generous sum of Seven Hundred Fifty Million Uganda Shillings (UShs 750,000,000/=) allocated for University scholarships for the academic year 2024-2025.
This substantial fund is earmarked to support gifted yet financially constrained individuals pursuing studies at both the Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels. The scholarships cover a diverse range of disciplines, including but not limited to Agriculture, Biology, Chemistry, Commerce, Engineering, Food Science & Technology, Information Technology, Hotel Management, Pharmacy, Nursing, Architecture, Veterinary Medicine, Actuarial Science, Environmental Studies, and Human Medicine.
For Undergraduate applicants, eligibility criteria require individuals to be Ugandan citizens who have successfully completed their first year of University studies. They must demonstrate an impressive academic track record with a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of not less than 3.0, without any exam retakes during the initial year.
Postgraduate hopefuls, also Ugandan citizens, must hold a Bachelor’s degree and either be admitted to or registered for a postgraduate program to qualify for consideration.
Speaking about the scholarships, the Muljibhai Madhvani Foundation expressed its unwavering commitment to fostering academic excellence and supporting deserving students in their pursuit of higher education. It is vital to note that applicants should not make any payments at any stage of the application process. All completed applications must reach the Secretary no later than the deadline of 30th April 2024. Submissions received after this date will not be considered.
