Rebecca Naddamba, the third year Education student from Makerere University who defied all “university decency rules” as per the Dean of Students and showed up at their college finalist dinner showing more flesh than cloth has turned into an Activist.
She displayed this fierce side of herself when she took to social media in a typical Stella Nyanzi style and demanded that the university releases internship money for the students who haven’t gotten it.
“Beeca the slay queen” is her alias on popular social media platform Facebook and it is the account she used to portray her dissatisfaction with the university management.
She purports that the delay exposes the incompetence within the administration and demands that it be paid to the students without wait because it isnt a grant or loan from the university but rather, students pay for it.
She went ahead to declare her unwavering support for any students’ action meant to demand for the same.
“I am not entitled to this money (because I am in third year) but I wish my brothers and sisters the best…and I will join them in their demand”, Naddamba said.
Just a section of the university students have been able to have their money wired onto their accounts in what we understand was the first batch of the distribution.
The second batch is expected to be effected between Monday and Friday of this week.
Rebecca Naddamba is the latest to declare her support to any action (s) demanding the remitting of internship fees to students after School of Education Guild Representative (GRC) Brenda Lapobo circulated the Makerere WhatsApp community with promises of a one man demonstration if the university doesnt remit their money.
