In a meeting sat yesterday between Makerere University Management and Guild President, Kato Paul has come out with both good news and bad. The meeting came out with resolutions that won’t stop last year students from sitting for their exams but will rather be denied graduation if they fail to pay the 10k.

The management acknowledged that the fee was charged a little bit late when the students had already completed paying their tuition. It should be noted that endowment fee is a functional fee which gives no right to the management to stop students from sitting for their exams in case they have cleared the tuition.

The rest of the students will be required to pay the fee before sitting for end of semester one exams in the next academic Year. The endowment fee has existed for two years and every Makerere student is bound to pay it annually.

This news has come in at a time when Makerere students are preparing for their end of semester exams which are expected to kick off tomorrow at the Wandegeya based Campus.
