According to Makerere University’s academic registrar, the orientation ceremony that was meant to take place on Monday 14th August has been re-scheduled to this Friday 18th August.
The ceremony will be hosted at Makerere Freedom Square where a number of new first year students will be officially initiated into becoming campusers.
Some of the activities that happen in this ceremony include giving guidance to freshers on how they will handle different issues on their journey as students. This ceremony is also part of Makerere’s orientation week where new students have been participating in activities like dancing, drinking, and generally being welcomed as Makerere University’s students.
More information from the registrar’s office reveals that the function is expected to kick off as early as 9 am and will continue till 1 pm in the freedom square.
