Makerere University’s new guild president Ssemboga Roy has been hurriedly sworn in today morning at Makerere University. Ssemboga was declared the new guild president on Friday following re-elections at the School of Education.
Rumors had been swirling that Ssemboga’s main challenger Bazil Mwotta was preparing to secure a Court injunction against the swearing-in on Monday morning following an acrimonious electoral process that left the two camps bitterly divided.
Shortly after being sworn in, Ssemboga announced the cabinet he will be working with. Names on this list include:

Minister of Culture and Mobilisation – Hon. Lubwama Stuart
Minister of Estates and Environments – Hon. Abahairwe Bruce
Minister of External Affairs – Hon. Sheema Emmanuel
Minister for Finance – Hon. Mugisha Rashid
Minister of Information – Hon. Kizito Abasi
Minister of Justice and constitutional Affairs – Hon Ogwal Lameck
Minister for Off Campus Affairs – Hon. Mubiru Jovan Denis
Minister Postgraduate students affairs – Hon. Kisege Abdul
Minister for Production and Employment – Hon. Musherura Daniel
Minister for Research and Computer Technology – Hon. Bagumirabingi Yosam
