Makerere University and its affiliate Makerere University Business School (MUBS) will represent Uganda in Kenya on 14th March for the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) challenge after emerging winners among a pool of Ugandan universities yesterday.
Chartered Financial Analyst holds Research and equity challenges for universities across the world and for the national rounds yesterday, the teams were given a challenge of analysing Stanbic Bank Uganda to give an opinion on whether an investor should buy or sell the Stanbic Bank stocks.
The participating Ugandan universities were Makerere University and Makerere University Business School (MUBS) that took first and second place respectively and they were joined by Ndejje University, International University of East Africa (IUEA) plus the University of Rwanda from the neighbouring Republic of Rwanda.
The winning team comprised of Philemon Twinomuhwezi, John Ssemwogerere, Sharon Navugga, and Mariam Atuhaire who are all business students at the College of Business and Management Sciences (CoBAMS) at Makerere University. They won certificates and will be joined by the second placed team in the regional competition in Kenya to represent Uganda.
