Makerere University has denied knowledge of Anthony Kigozi, the man who posted on his Facebook page that 156 students were to be dismissed by the University on grounds of consistent low CGPs, examination malpractices and repeating papers for more than 3 times. Kigozi’s Facebook page mentions that he is a systems analyst at Makerere, working on Level 6 of the Senate building. However, according to the office of the Academic registrar which is on level six of the same building, there is no person by the names of Anthony Kigozi and neither is there any systems analyst.
Campus Bee spoke to Justus, the Makerere Secretariat for academic irregularities who also sits on level six about the Issue and he pointed out the following irregularities in the post.
First he pointed out that there is no such thing as examinations board in Makerere University.
He also pointed out that Makerere’s official Communications pass through the Public Relations Office and the University students’ information is not public therefore Makerere would not expose it.
“I am not the official communications person but I don’t know about that dismissal and I can tell you Makerere would not make such information public.” He explained
Attempts to get a word from Kigozi haven’t yielded so far but Campus Bee will update you when word comes through.
