Makerere University professor, Christopher Bakuneta, a Professor of Zoology who was allegedly held for raping a student has been sent back to Luzira Prison by LDC Grade One magistrate Moses Baligeya, until 23rd May.
The State Prosecutor Birungi Flavia requested that the magistrate adjourn the case until 23rd May to enable the state gather enough evidence to pin the accused.
Prosecution alleges that on 27th March at Makerere University, Professor Christopher Bakuneta forcefully had sexual intercourse with Ntegeka Versha without her consent. This comes after he was suspended from Makerere University pending his case with the disciplinary committee of MAK. The embattled lawyer faces up to 25 years in Jail if found guilty.
